A stray goose

"When I was four years old, a stray wild goose got lost in the woods behind our house one night. Its wailing was heartbreaking and filled us with fear. In the middle of the night, we set out for my grandmother's house: my mother carried my sister on her back, while I carried the radio and lit our way with a flashlight."
