Moon Goddess

Chang'e is the highly revered Moon Goddess of Chinese mythology. She resides in the Moon Palace of Vast Coldness (Guanghan Gong), accompanied by the tireless Jade Rabbit. Surrounded by fragrant laurel trees, she embodies grace, longing, and the ideal of reunion. Inspired by this legend, the Chinese lunar exploration program bears her name: the 'Chang'e' series of lunar probes explore the secrets of our satellite in her honor.
